Description The invention relates to a device for feeding animals, in particular for feeding hay in the form of cuboid, round bales or in loose form, the device consisting of a four-sided container with one or more closure plates, which the animal from the feed in the device separates.
In order to provide animals such as cattle, sheep and horses with food, various feeding devices are already used. These are often set up in the form of feed rails or the like, mostly outdoors. It is particularly important to protect the food from the weather. This is usually achieved by special roof structures or other protective covers. By appropriate separations, the animals are separated from the feed, so they can not reach the total amount of food.
From the prior art other various other devices are known, which should always fulfill the task not to let the animals constantly feed, but in very small portions (eg, by narrow meshes of nets or grids) or by mechanically moving Shut-offs (eg slides, roller tracks or deflectors) to limit the feed intake.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a comparison with the prior art improved and simplified feeding device for animals.
This is achieved according to the present invention by a device having the features of claim 1. It is therefore provided that the feed is arranged in a weather-resistant, stable, rectangular container, wherein one, preferably up to four, closure plate opens or closes the openings located in the container by a drive device, so that horses feed on the feed when the container opening is open can.
This device is much easier to handle and horse-friendly by the four-sided accessible to the horses, weatherproof container, economical and less space consuming.
According to a preferred embodiment, it can be provided that the drive device drives a tension element via a drive shaft, which is connected or connectable to at least at least one of the (maximum four) closure plates, preferably by a connecting element. The tension member may be in the form of a rope, a chain or belt. The connecting element may be a knot, a loop, a screw clamp or otherwise.
The drive device of the device for feeding animals on the one hand driveable hand pendulum or on the other hand be driven by a motor, pneumatic or hydraulic drive unit. In the second variant, it is preferably provided that this is controlled or regulated by an electronic control or regulating unit, so that automatic feeding times are adjustable or definable.
Since several animals are fed at the same time, it is advantageous if the four sides are divided by rigid or flexible separation elements. As a result, it is impossible for a high-ranking animal to hog several feeding grounds and thus prevent the other animals from eating.
In order to ensure an independent slipping of the feed in the direction of animal, it may be provided to design the container filled with food in the middle down to all four sides downhill. As a result, the feed is brought into an inclined position and moves in the direction of the container opening.
Further details and advantages of the present invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the description of the figures with reference to the exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings. 1 to 3 show in side view various steps in feeding the animal, Figs. 4 and 5 show possible drive techniques for the closure plates and the application of the solar technology for the drive device; and Figs. 6 and 7 show examples of dividing the feed bays by dividers and the various possible implementations for two, four, six and eight feed bins.

The operation of the feeding device is shown in Figs. 1 to 3. The operation of the feeding device is shown by way of example in FIG. Thus, via the drive device 11, a drive shaft 12 can be rotated, so that a tension element 13 can be wound up and the closure plates 6 are moved upward by the connection element 14. So that the food can always slide in the direction of the container openings 7, the food support base 18 is equipped so that its sides are each aligned obliquely sloping to the container openings 7. When equipped with solar cells 19, you can set up the feeding device anywhere completely independent of the normal power and you also save on driving costs. It is also apparent from FIG. 5 that the recovered solar power is stored in batteries 20 to then enter the control unit 17 and the drive device 11.
The division of the side walls 1 shown in FIG. 6 by separating elements 21 and 22 prevents very effective that higher-ranking animals do not occupy several feeding places and so also low-ranking animals can take food.
Fig. 7 shows the various possible embodiments of how the feeding device can be designed for any number of horses. Due to the square arrangement of the feeding places, each horse has the possibility to dodge at a 45-degree angle to the neighbor and thus to increase the individual distance (corresponding to the thickness of a separating element 21 or 22) considerably (10-fold magnification and more). To increase the distance, a tree trunk or other spacers such as corner posts, hinged pipes, side walls or fences can be used. By arranging the feeding grounds around the square container 1a, each horse has a much greater freedom of movement and thus effortlessly leave the feeding place by turning. Moreover, due to the square shape of the container 1a, it is easier for the horses to avoid the "short". Station around, which is very important for the movement incentive.
By the described invention, the horses can be supplied with appropriate food with food and are thus (because they often want to visit the feeding device) kept completely in motion, which is enormously important for the running animal horse for health maintenance. Horses need social contact and therefore love to eat together, so that the described feeding device in the group keeping meets the needs of the horse strongly. Due to the automatic opening and closing of the side walls with the sealing plates, the feed supply is modeled on the natural conditions in the primeval home of the horse (steppe), namely small portions (sparse steppe grass) distributed almost throughout the day (feed intake 16 to 18 h / day) , By feeding in small portions, the horses can digest the ingested food better and more effectively, so that overall more food is saved and in addition health problems (overfeeding) are avoided.
Horses are herd animals. To ensure the necessary order in the community, the strict law of hierarchy applies.
